On the 280SL, there are these 4 holes (2 on the right, 2 on the left) in the rocker panels where you are supposed to put the jack when lifting the wheels. Apparently there are these little plastic covers that go in there to plug the holes under normal circumstances. I have one plug and would like to aquire the other 3. My questions (you knew I'd get around to it sooner or later, didn't you) are:
1. What do you call those little doo-dads?
and
2. Where do I obtain them?
Thank you

Hi Steve,
They're called "Kleineplastikekrikkedeksels" :) , but can be ordered from K&K Manufacturing as "jack hole cover", about $4/each.

OK...they are on their way...and, by the way, they are now 9.95 each plus shipping!
Thanks again Will.
Now, if I could just find the "trouble light" for the engine compartment....

Is that the correct one for my car? Is it a reproduction of the factory original or is it just a trouble light that happens to fit?
Thanks

This is a current type unit, I do not know if there was an original type. The one I have is a Bosch unit with a scissors (sort of) clamp. I tried to find one like it, but had no luck. The Kaco part was the closest I was ever able to find.
To cut to the chase, this is a trouble light that will work with the car.
