Hello Rodd,
A great job, thanks for all the hard work. It would be nice to make a wide poster out of that W113 amazing line-up of W113 cars!

Ask and ye shall receive...
It can be done easily; printed in giclee method (that's a fancy term for art-house printing using wide-format, high quality, high resolution archival ink jet on high quality paper).
The question is, who has the best photograph of this panoramic lineup? Let me know and I'll put a quick mockup together.
I know Graham Creasey had one--anyone else who has what they think might be high quality, high resolution panoramic shots of the Pagoda lineup at PUB? Let me know.

Michael,
Get with Joe off-line, he has a lead on a person who could print some of these.
Others,
Thanks for the complements! If you have suggestions for approval, you can post them here or send them to me directly.
Thanks,
Rodd

I wish I had been able to get images for that one section of interior codes. I sent out an e-mail to 8 or 10 people, but couldn't come up with the proper original dealership options book.

Rodd,
Good job on the new issue. In future issues, I would suggest using much higher resolution photos, especially the cover. Issue No. 10's cover is great, but a high resolution copy would have taken it to another level. I can always assist in photo editing.
Thanks,
Michael

Yes, the front cover photo I used was not of the highest resolution, but I just had to use it!
In general, I think the quality limitations are my publishing software (and possibly technique) and the printing method I agreed to with the printing company. I will investigate improving the quality, but I don't have room for increased cost.
I also would like to perform some kind of "Cover Photo Contest". I'm deciding how to do it fairly and how to encourage participation.

Sounds like a great idea. Once you find out the minimum resolution for cover (and article) photos that will not look a pixelated, you should require those constraints in the future issues.
Keep up the great work!

So my lucky day was yesterday -- went to the Post Office in the Pagoda. No bills and only two items: The Star and Pagoda World!
And not to give too much away, on our Pagoda trip last week I was behind Larry for miles and literally did not recognize his car after the makeover. Very nice job and nice write-up! Thanks Lurtch.
-
I also liked the back cover photo (nice job Paul!)... I only wish we could see more of his Pagoda than the sliver in the lower right hand corner.
I also like the new print quality... all in all, fabulous job!

Yes, I broke my tradition of showing a rear-view of a Pagoda on the back cover. Interesting picture, though, driving a Pagoda into a storm in the Swiss Alps!

When we changed to printing color on the interior pages, I changed paper quality. I think it's pretty good, but I'm not convinced that I'm using the software to its best ability. I'm going to have a meeting with my printing company and see what they recommend on giving them a better electronic file.

Rodd,
'If you have any polite constructive criticism....' The quality has increased tremendously, well done! I have read the issue with much pleasure. The interests of the pagoda owners are so divers that it is difficult to do suggestions to improve. The technical part of our hobby finds its place in the forum. PW could also focus on the more aesthetic side of our cars and items of human interest of the owners in relation to their cars.

Hi Rodd,
I'd like to buy # 2, 3, and 4. Did you receive my PM?

It was like Christmas in May here yesterday -- I got Back Issue Number 2! Thanks Rodd.
-
This thread alerted me to the fact that some back issues, which had been distributed before I was a member, were still available. I ordered them for archival reasons. Since each new issue is acclaimed as "the best yet", I expected the early ones to be scanty, maybe even Xeroxed manuscripts. Not so. Issues 2 thru 4 are just as interesting and informative as any.
A belated thanks to Rodd and Douglas, the editors at the time.
