Please help!
This is what my 1967 SL has as upholstery.
Is this the usual deign or is it someone's fantasy of leather work?
:))))

Sarino,
That is not leather and is not the "usual design."

Yikes! Now I see why you were calling the interior tacky. Definitely not original, but hard to judge what it looks like unless you see it in context with the whole interior.

I used to have some cowboy boots like that! (when I was seven and worshipped Roy Rogers!) :)

No it is not leather, nor is it original. I'd venture that some very irritated Naughas gave their all in the creation of the unique upholstery in your Pagoda. Are there matching door panels or dash pads? If it is servicable use it until you are ready to redo the interior of your car. The good news is that you will be able to replace the interior with what ever M-B Tex or Leather you want without having to worry much about sacrificing an "original" interior!
