Title: oil pressure ?
Post by: gnj588d on April 10, 2008, 14:59:37
The oil pressure on my 230 is just below max at tickover when at operating temp I use Castrol GTX 10/40 is this OK.The reason I ask is I was talking to Naj at Essen when he asked me what was the oil pressure like on my car,he said it should drop at tickover but how much? is the oil to heavy.  Cheers Mike Rutledge

Hi Mike. Mine drops to about the 2 when fully warm. Instantly pegs on throttle. I had heard this was in the normal range. I use GTX 10/30.

Mike,

Here's oil pressure on my car after a six hour run on a spring 20 degree day:

As you can see, my car's only got delivery mileage on the clock ! [:p]
