Wow! Very nice car. Have you considered changing the headlamps to euro style? Love the color combination!

Euro headlamps would be a nice addition (but hard to get).  Registry plate is so covered that I need to scour it to get real numbers off it to see how much is original. I'm planning on slowly converting it to original.  I do need a Europa radio though...I believe it came with the TG which is next to impossible to find.

Nice car! Love those early 230 SLs. 2 questions:
1. What does the soft top look like? (Does it have the chrome bar?)
2. Is that a jump seat I see in the rear?

The soft top is fairly new and in great shape.  To be honest I don't know about the chrome bar...is it across the windshield?
It does have a jumpseat though I'm not sure if it is original.  If it was, then when the interior was redone several years ago it was done incorrectly in the back.  The "well" for the feet is covered.

The chrome bar goes across the soft top just above the rear window similar to a W 111 cabriolet or Porsche 356 Cabriolet top. It's one of those early Pagoda details that was later lost. The bar tacks into a wooden bow/crossmember that is directly beneath the canvas. (It's covered in headliner material.)
If your Pagoda was originally equipped with it, it is entirely likely that your chrome bar was removed and never replaced at some point. (When I last chcked, they were still available from M-B, incidentally.)
Lewis Eig recently posted a photo of his former car on this site to show what it looks like.
Finally, the transverse seat is a nice touch. You should be able to pop out the covering on the driver-side. If it was re-done nicely, there's probably carpeting under there as well.
Let us know what you find in both areas.
