Title: Tonneau Cover
Post by: Richard Madison on March 26, 2008, 05:19:47
An Ebay car is a Euro model with rear folding seat and a clip on  Tonneau Cover.

What happened to the soft top horseshoe cover? or was the soft top added?

I'm confused (not unusual).

If it has a folding rear seat it's a "California Coupe" and there is a rear seat in place of the soft top box and cover.  There's no soft top only a hard top.  The tonneau was not standard, it was probably added to make it look more like a typical pagoda.

Pete: I took another look...it looks like the softtop is snapped to the car using the Tonneau snaps. Seems to be a way to have a soft top and a folding rear seat.  Ebay item 120237790794

That is indeed a CA Coupe. I noticed that one online a few days ago as well. The tonneau cover with snaps was a popular addition to this model, for obvious reasons.

Must've been white originally.  The snapped on cloth tonneau does make for a tidy looking CA Coupe with an add-on soft top in the stowed position.

It does look like it has a soft top under there.  I assume you can't use the seat with the top down (although you don't have any leg room in either case)
