Post by: paulr on March 23, 2008, 16:40:52
There is damage on my soft top box slots where the frame / hinge has folded down onto it leaving unsightly gouges when the top is nicely folded away . Can this be repaired do we know ?

PaulR,
This soft top cover is aluminum, thus allowing it to dent easily.

I'm guessing it's repairable, Paul. In fact, it's good that it's on an isolated panel where touch-up work that isn't a perfect 100% match in color won't be obvious.

It's definitely one of the areas that's prone to damage on a Pagoda from the folding and unfolding of the top. The hardtop also tends to chip up that area.

Paulr,

I had bad damage to mine on one side and had it repaired by my body/paint guy.  No problem.

Good luck.

My soft-top case has small grooves/scrapes on each side that may or may not be gouges. They are definitely missing some paint though and are unsightly. I have thought about having the case re-sprayed -- but then again there are plenty of other small chips around the car to keep them company.
