Title: Oil Pressure Line
Post by: awolff280sl on March 22, 2008, 06:22:46: After replacing the oil pressure line with a new line, is it necessary to somehow get the air out of the line and get a column of oil into it? In other words, do you have to bleed the air out of the line somehow before hooking it back up to the center instrument box?

I asked gernold this very question and he said no.

when I re-installed my instrument cluster I just hooked everything up and started the car.

you could, if you wanted to, bleed the system, but why chance the mess.

Of course you should do this, anytime you have the central cluster out. :) .Both in order to bleed out any air, but also to displace the old, stale oil from the line.

Put a small cup to catch the oil, and crank the engine w/o starting until fresh oil comes out. That means, disconnect the ignition before cranking.
