I could not resist Andy williams is a national treasure. Even though its a 190SL in the video it is still the kind of music an era of our generation grew to know. Fine wine and cars and crooners like Andy Williams.

Thanks for sharing that, Bob.
I couldn't help but search for "Two for the Road" as well and sure enough there are plenty of uploaded scenes from the movie on youtube. Here's one with the Pagoda:

I know we've discussed that movie ad nauseum here, but it always puts a smile on my face to see how prominently that white Pagoda was featured in that film. The car looked gorgeous then and now. Same can be said for Audrey Hepburn too, of course. Both timeless beauties.

I have always been looking for some good driving music.
About a year ago some one put together a list of the top
50 driving songs - never heard them just say the the
article in USA Today newspaper and have been looking to
the list every since.
It should be a interesting view and listen if one can find
the list.

Well, I have a bunch of songs on my Ipod that I play when driving. I am not so sure they are "driving" songs as much as they are period-correct songs. Mainly later 1950s and 1960s Billboards Rock and Roll and American Folk music. Some 70s thrown in. I try to imagine what the original owner may have been listening to as he/she? cruised around.
Of course, (given the original prices) most of the original Pagoda owners may have listened to more sophisticated and conservative music than The Troggs, The Ventures, and Peter, Paul, & Mary... Maybe Andy Williams is about right!

Well, my car's original owner was 62 when he traded his '59 220 SE coupe for it. So he probably was listening to Count Basie, Guy Lombardo, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, and the like.

I have a little SD card in my radio that contains a few obvious albums/artists:
Sgt Peppers, Rubber Soul, Revolver and Abbey Road, Pet Sounds, a Motown compilation, Dusty Springfield, Soul Stax 65-73, some Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett and...
Jack Johnson.
Stick the whole lot on shuffle and life is good!

If you are not in a hurry, take a slow, casual ride with the top down while listening to Miles Davis, Kind of Blue. It's like a fine wine.
