Title: leather seat covers
Post by: cobra500 on March 05, 2008, 18:06:44
I have a 69 280 sl with worn out interior.
I have found a company in Hollywood California,
German Auto that advertises on ebay.
He says he sells to dealers such as Buds Benz and Millers.
He sent a email with good pictures of carpet and material.
Prices are very good.Has anyone heard of German Auto <top>
don't want to lose $2000.00
All comments appreciated.

No, but I've heard GAHH is very good for the 113.  Not an area to skimp in, you don't save enough for something you'll be looking at for a long time.  Who will install the interior?

I agree with John, when you look at your SL your eyes will go to seats first.  I to was told not to cut cost in this area of restoration.  I shopped around and found GAHH the best for their kits.  The auto upholstery companies in this area all swear by GAHH.  Claim that their leather is the best on the market and sewing is top quality and every seat fits like a glove.  Talk to Jackie Salame at jackie@gahh.com.  By the way prices are currently reduced for a linited time.

However if you are still wantinmg to shop around, try Heritage Upholistery & Trim, in Blaine WA.  They are top quality too, howevery, did not have the exact color match in leather (Dark Red #242), so I went to GAHH.

P.S. don't forget to replace your seat pads too.  They sell them as a aftermarket item, or MB has original stock of about 40 sets still in US priced at $786 plus tax for backs and bottoms.

My math is wrong.  Left out one seat back.  Total comes to $1056. (backs list at $270 ea and bottoms at 258 ea).
