Title: 108 Rally car

Ok I know this is not SL related, but does anyone know anything about this car or other 108 rally cars?

That is a picture of one of the very first AMG projects, a race car for one of the European sedan series.  If I remember correctly it was the subject of a magazine article recently.  After it was retired from racing it served as a development mule. AMG reacquired it and returned it to its historic racing spec.

I think that might be the 6.3 I saw at Meadowbrook car show last summer. It would be a 109 car.

The guy who started it is Erick Waxenburger, hot rod Erick . worked under Rudy I give him the credit for the 6.3 and many other great Mercedes-Benz V8 models. Waxenburger was a premeir guess at alot of the M100 group gathering.
