VDO clock not working, does any one have any pictures etc, how to take clock apart and what is the cause

Mine stopped working a few years ago and it was the soldered fuse connection.  It was broken.  To fix, I simply resoldered with low temp solder, as mentioned in the article above...

I think that these old clocks are pretty solid.  Most people replace them not knowing a simple solder fix, fixes the clock...

Well, a blown out fuse  might not be the only issue...
I experienced a more complex problem that a jeweller or even an automotive electrician couldn't solve, and decided to send my clock to palo Alto Speedometer.They did a wonderful and drastic job , just converting the mechanism to quartz.Still cheaper than a new clock  (circa €400! at SLS) and more respectful of the original, as the look remains unchanged (don't even mention this  awful "quartz" logo... :D ).
