Any thoughts?

Are all the lights working? That is, is the left blinker actually indicating? The faster rate used to indicate a burnt out bulb, or a short somewhere?

Yes all the lights are working and the left blinker is indicating. Could it be that part of a bulb is burnt out?

If all the lighting is ok, I'd check the ground wire connection for the taillights first.

Have you checked the flasher? My blinker was becoming slow, replaced the flasher and wow works great now.

Might be a poor ground on the front or rear blinker on one side -- I would guess the left.

Bad or partial ground.

You might have different bulbs with different wattages right and left, if both seem to be working. This is an easy check.

Yep, just switch bulbs and see if the issue follows.

No progress yet. They needed the bay for other cars so will be a few weeks before they get to it. Thanks for asking. John
