Title: Chrome fasteners, int piece and dry rubber

Where do I get the fasteners to hold on the exterior chrome?  Also I need the opposite side of this trim piece...ideas? I believe this piece is from the passenger side. Lastly lots of the side molding rubber is very dry, ideas for softing them?  I was thinking of using the hide food I use for leather from Color-Plus.

Best to order the fastners from a dealer.
Note: the fastners to go on the door (thick door skin *) are different from the ones for the steel fenders ~.
Easier to attach the fastners to the body first and press on the trim.
The rubber insert for the upper moulding is quite inexpensive. May want to consider new: 001 987 2125 sold by the metre.

The upper molding pieces are available from parts dealers in the US (MB might have original spec molding but at twice the cost of reproduction pieces.).

Even the repro molding is quite costly, about $100 to $200 each piece. High cost could be the reason we see that a fair number of cars being sold are missing the rear pieces on the back fender.

The molding can be held on with Pop Rivets, or screws and plastic Mollys.

Echoing Naj's suggestion, new molding insert is the way to go, A lot easier than trying to revive dried out rubber. New insert material (enough for the entire car) is only about $20.
