Anyone have an idea what's going on here under the hood?

Wow.
As a bonus, you get three spare antennae at the back (besides the one up front). Plus: the rare radio delete plate mounted under the radio.

Hauser,
What the heck kind of intake manifold is that????
Waqas,
You also get an on-dash compass, an upgraded heater fan speed knob, and possibly a trailer hitch?

Since it has a 2 piston fuel injection pump, I think the engine came out of a sedan. I was surprised they didn't list how much tread was left on the tires like the "ford-goda" ;)

I don't know what hurts more -- looking at the engine bay or seeing the radio badge stuck into the dash.
At least the passenger dash panel is there (more or less). I probably would have taken it out for the photo though...
I think 7K is a bit steep for this here one.

I didn't notice that. Maybe it's an engine from a 220SE or something similar?

Yes that is the motor from a 220SE with 111 body and the 2 element injection pump.
The intake on those is much longer, and the injector nozzles were in the manifold instead of threaded into the head and spraying into the port.
It seems like a strange choice, because there were way many more 280 SE sedans to get a scrap engine than 220's. I imagine someone had an old fintail sitting behind thier shop when the 280 motor blew out.

Hello,
Rodd, your right, it is a "long manifold" version 220Se engine wiht the two piston pump. It looks like they had to relocate the water tank because of the long manifold.
