My 69 280 sl has a problem with fowling the plugs when at the idle position,as well as it does run rich. The fuel system was rebuilt from tank to injectors ( pump by Hans ).
Can anyone help.
I have tried adjusting the Pump slightly etc.

It's a very common problem with our cars. Most of the information has been collected in the Technical Manuel (Thanks Peter!) Here's a link http://www.sl113.org/wiki/pmwiki.php?n=Fuel.Start In my case, it was the linkage. Unlike modern cars, the linkage adjustment is very important in the smooth running of these cars. There is a very thorough description of linkage adjustment in the Maintenance section on that page.
