Post by: 230slhouston on December 11, 2007, 21:48:45
Does anyone know if the following distributor 0 231 116 052 (JFUR 6) will function the same as a retard type 0 231 116 051.

Thanks MB

0 231 116 052 (JFUR 6) is a vacuum advance distributor out of a US 280S carb model.

Please confirm my options?
The technical manual lists the following distributors for my 230 SL (retard type).
0 231 116 047
0 231 116 051
0 231 185 009
I have a 66 230sl. My car has a retard throttle/advance distributor, so I am not sure what the original was.

I have an opportunity to by a 0 231 185 009 part number. It is from a 68 280se Are the retard distributors interchangeable?

Thanks for you help.

I would say YES!

See the table on 230 SL distributors under 'vacuum retard'
