just a few photos of the new car. i'd be interested to know if anyone else has this odd green interior color :)

Very nice. Personally, I like the color combo as well and do not find it—to use your word—"odd." I'd prefer to call it "quirky" and distinctive.
Couple of questions:
1. Is that light ivory?
2. Is that the original interior?
3. Which car drives better and which one would you rather own today if you could choose—the older/newer 280 SL or the newer/older 250 SL?

I like the color combo, too. And it makes me feel better about changing the color of my carpet to give my interior a two tone look (red and gray).

Pretty car! I saw a white 280SL with green interior and dark green softtop a couple of years ago - very attractive and distinctive. Is your beige color code 181?

My previous car was a '73 450sl. It had the same interior color but Seafoam green exterior. Only time I've ever seen that color until now.

Beautiful car! And I love the green interior! I keep toying with the idea of changing my interior from tan to some form of green leather (exterior is moss metallic green). What's your interior color code? Is the two-tone original to the car?
I'm partial to green, what can I say... :oops: .... makes me green with envy :D

Suzy, great looking car looks like papyrus white 717.
This is the same colour combo PW 717 with green leather as mine.
I was dubious at first but just love the comination now.

Hi Suzy.
When I saw your pictures I thought it was my car. Actually mine is a 1965 230SL. The colors appear to be the same. My has its original colors, White Ivory with green interior. I have not seen any others like it until I saw this post. I would love to see more pictures of your car.
I would post some pictures of my car for all to see, however for some reason I cannot get any of my pictures to upload successfully.
Maybe I could email them to someone who could post them.

Perhaps not quite so odd or quirky as you thought, with all the positive responses. We have a member of MBCA here in NE Ohio with a silver car and the green interior.

The easiest way I found to get pix the right size is to use Powerpoint. Insert the picture into a blank slide and then save as a jpeg (using the pulldown option when you save the file). You may have to play with the size of the picture in the slide to get the right file size.
1. Open Powerpoint, create new presentation
2. Insert picture from file (select your picture)
3. Size the picture (or pictures) to fit
4. Save (or save as)
a. give it a name
b. save as type: JPEG File Interchange Format
5. Ta da!

Another way to shrink pictures open them in Paint and then from the IMAGE menu choose STRETCH/SKEW and "stretch" them to a smaller size. I usually start with 40% for my camera.
MAKE SURE you "Save As" a different file name or you will overwrite your original picture.

Naa ... it can't be a twin of your 250 as Peter's is a 230 ... Thus, only siblings, but no twins... ;)
Nevertheless, both your cars look great.
I know that the former president of the Hamburg section of the SL Club Pagode in Germany has a (late style) 250 SL with green leather interior (Gee, what was his name ... Hans Meyer...?). His car is some sort of off-white greenish white. Very interesting color and extremely rare. Although not everything is 100% original on his car (headrests, center armrest, Euro headlights on US version), his car is in outstanding conditions.
Probably, I'll find the pic I made of his car ...

Here's the build sheet on my car.
I was always attracted to this car. It was one of the first 113's I had ever set my eyes on, let alone the unusual and attractive color sceme. Aside of Suzy's and one other 280SL that was on ebay a few years ago, these are the only 3 I know of. I'm happy I own this car today.
The interesting thing is the interior color plays off the the Light Ivory (670)and gives the illusion of a green tint to the paint. I've seen this in cream color SL's with red and blue. The cream soaks it up.
The pictures of my 230SL posted were taken in the final stage of reassembly over a year ago. My car is hibernating for now but I will get some nicer and fresher pictures to post as soon as I can once the weather clears.

I was at SL-Tech in Maine yesterday picking up some parts from Gernold, and I spotted a 280SL with the white/green color scheme. I had never seen that combination before...and now we know of at least 3-4!!

Congratulation on your new 250SL. I have only seen the green interior in person twice in my life once in San Francisco in the early 1970s and then again at a mechanic shop this was a car for sale and not taken care of.
I wish my father had left well enough alone my restoration will take me pass my driving age to complete and rid the gremlins my dad left for me to fine .

Suzy...I love the color combo, as I haven't seen it before. I received your message about the seat belts but I've been away. I will try and get some photos. I like the set up as it is....of course the shoulder belt stays tight against you but I have gotten used to it.

This will work, but is not ideal. In the Forum FAQ (see button top right of your page) or Frequently Asked Questions, is a very detailed section on Uploading and inserting pictures (http://www.sl113.org/forums/faq.asp#GetForum) which points to free-of-charge software you can use, which is very efficient. You can do it with any photo-processing software but Powerpoint or Paint would be my last choices.
The main advantage of the free XnView (http://www.xnview.com/) software is that it allows you to select and crop a part of the photograph, whilst maintaining the correct aspect ratio of the photo, and then to reduce the picture size. Another tool that I recommend very, very highly is the free Picasa (http://picasa.google.com/) application from Google. With that you can also edit and change file sizes very, very easily.

Doesn't get much easier than Microsoft Image resizer. Select picture file, right click, select size, you're done.

Suzy - the interior looks pretty good! I've seen one with a turquoise interior - that was odd!
