Title: Cold & Clear in New England
Post by: dtuttle123 on November 12, 2007, 05:42:47
Cold & clear New England day in November for a drive to the beach.  This is my 1967, 250SL, 4-speed, orient red that I bought last year, and spent most of the summer in the paint shop - finally getting a few good drives before it goes in the barn for the winter.

Hello Kemal,

Not to offend anybody here ...  ;)

.. but New England is not supposed to be the best area known for Pagoda-ing during the winter time.
Same as in Old England and Deutschland :D

Best,

How about a yard of snow, slush, grit and salt on the roads from December - April? I know, used to live there...

Ahh, nothing like a crisp Fall drive...wooly sweater advised!

Here in the Sierra foothills, we are lucky enough to get four seasons -- and yes a bit of snow -- but there are also a number of perfect Pagoda driving days Dec-Feb. I used to dedicate this to be hard-top weather -- but now with a hoist, I some times mix it up!

I find that my car hates to sit too long -- so I try and get out year-round. I understand the "real" winter places have a lot of salt on the roads that is not so good for our cars.

ami,

Some of us like to make conversational comments and small jokes to reinforce our camaraderie here on this board.

There are more polite ways of asking for clarification. If you insert an insult into your question (for example: "what is this rubbish?" or "is this meaningless gibberish?"), it comes across as sarcastic and mean, even if unintentionally so.

If small talk is not to your taste, it's easier simply not to respond. If you feel something is inappropriate, please send your objections to the site administrators.

Thanks,

More 'Perplexing Pagoda Persiflage'?  Adds to the entertainment.  You ought to see the 'comments' on the Jag and Yugo forums!  Feel blessed here.

Ami,
Why don't you contact me on my email ?
[I would have contacted you earlier myself to explain all your misunderstandings, unfortunately your email isn't shown !]

Also, I/we would love to see some pictures of your beloved Pagoda.
It was a shame you couldn't make it to the UK Event, I would have loved to have met you, especially as you also encouraged me to do it !

[ I hope this is not too confusing for you ! please ] (' ;) ')

I look forward to hearing from you!

Persiflage....witticism or riducule. To me, wit one way and an attempt at riducule the other.
Kemal (with an A)your enthusiasm for the marque and the board are great keep posting and organising!

Kemel Shah. It is difficult to me to travel to UK for show as I live in the Islands and work in the USA.

My cars are beautiful but alas I do not possess an camera.

Thank you please.
