Hi I am Chris, Austrian, work and live in Kuwait, yes the Kuwait and Kuwait is hot, not night-live-wise but temperature-wise.
I actually a Porsche356phile but lusted after a Pagoda for quite some time.
I am right now in the process to buy a MB 230 SL (see link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/230SL-ZF-5-speed-plus-other-rare-options_W0QQitemZ160169490504QQihZ006QQcategoryZ6338QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem )
As you can see it is a Canadian Market version. Can you tell me what is the difference to the US Version respectively and more importantly since the car will go to Asutria, to the German/Austrian Version?
What do you guys think of the car in general? Is it a bargain for a 5 gear version in that condition or a lemon?
All advices/opinions are appreciated.
Cheers
Chris

I believe this car was up for auction before (recently) and was commented on by several people on this forum. Do a search w/ 5 speed. It is not common to see a car sell on eBay for that amount, but a 5 speed is a very rare option and the car appears to be in remarkable condition.

Chris,
Looks like a great car. I think the only differences that concern you is that you will have to install European headlights to pass inspection. The chrome headlight trim rings are different between the two versions as well so you will have to buy new ones or they can be used by grinding off a boss on the inside of the US spec ring.
