My wife and I took a weekend trip to Maine, sadly my 280SL isn't up to that kind of a trip. We stopped by SL Tech and got to meet with Gernold. I even got his picture, behind him you can see a 280SL that he uses for completing the soft top work on his customers soft tops. He had two other SL's in the shop, one a 230 and the other a 280. Out front there were about 5 SL's lined up and along the side there were another 5 or so parts cars. Inside his shop it's like some people described as a candy store.
There were about 10 Fuel Injection Pumps, 5 soft tops ready to be worked on and lots of other things stashed away in drawers. Here's a picture of Gernold and I.
Sorry but I'm having a problem uploading the picture to this topic.

Otto,
I fixed it for you. Part of the problem is the 'period' in your username. You've probably never had any success getting pictures placed, did you?

Thank you Peter.
I did post a photo of my car a few months back but I had forgotten how to do it.
Thanks again,
Otto
