Title: 230 SL Engine Mountings
Post by: 230slhouston on September 17, 2007, 12:40:58
:?: Are the left/right engine mountings identical or is there a difference in hight?
Both on my car are compressed so I canno tell the difference.

Hello. I believe the left & right motor mounts are the same -- the kit comes with the two and the necessary hardware. It is the rear (or transmission) mount that is slightly different.

Originally there were right and left side motor mount.

The 8th of the 10 digit MBZ part number when even is for left side parts, and odd when for the right. 0 usually means for both sides

ex
113 123 01 17  (right)
113 123 02 17 (left)

This is a fictitious part number

Rear mount is the same as a 190SL motor mount.

Are the engine mounts interchangable?
