Title: mercedes injector part number
Post by: deke54 on September 15, 2007, 10:34:10
What is the Mercedes (versus Bosch) part number for fuel injectors for a 280sl, and are the injectors for a 230 the same as for the later car?  Thanks

deke54,
the only injector you can get new is the bosch R2.

the dealer can give you their part number for the r2 if you want.

auto haus az has them for 97.65

If you have R1's get them checked.  some injection pump rebuilders prefer the performance of the r1's

Thanks for the reply.  There is a set of unopened Mercedes  injectors available.  They are advertised as being for a 230 sl.  If they would work in my 280, I'd be interested.  That's why I was trying to determine if Mercedes 230 sl injectors will work in a later car.  Thanks again.

R2's will work, from what I understand R1's were designed differently.

R1 or R2 will work the same
