Now that my indicator light problems are behind me, I noticed something else that troubles me. When I was driving the car yesterday (good weather, top down) I noticed that when I was accelerating, I could feel a vibration coming from behind me. Either drivetrain, or suspension, it feels like you are driving over a bunch of ridges in the road. Like a 5 cycles per second kind of vibration. I can feel it throug the seat.
In Holland, at many traffic lights there are such lateral ridges in the road, that give that sort of vibration. Yesterday however, I was driving across smooth motorway tarmac, and noticed it even when accelerating from 80 to 100 km/h. When I stop accelerating (i.e. just drive at a steady, constant speed) the vibration stops.
I tried searching the site, but found nothing. Has anyone any idea of what this could be and what I need to do to solve it?
Thanks

Hello Peter,
Check your driveshaft flex disc. Some bolts may be coming loose or the rubber disc is failing. Check the rest of the dirveshaft if you do not find a problem at the flex disc.

Thanks both of you, and especially you, Joe.
I've since done a search on "FLEX" and "DISk" and found a wealth of information such as http://index.php?topic=6298,disk and http://index.php?topic=4251,disk and especially this topic (which I could not find because of the way I spell acceleration ;) ) http://index.php?topic=6746,disk.
The only thing I don't know yet, is does one really have to remove the exhaust to get at this, and are special tools needed?
Peter

I just changed my last weekend after feeling a slight vibration in the stick shift while driving. After doing some digging in the forum I looked at the flex disc and it looked like a ball of fiber!
I only had to bend the heat shield slightly to get to a few bolts so did not have to remove the exhaust.
The replacement flex disc I bought was a little diffrent from the ones I have seen pictures of and diffrent from the old one that was in the car. The new one a made by Jurid was round(not 6 sided) with no tabs to put toward the transmisson.

Don,
Was it correct for the w113 or a substitute for a w108?

I called http://www.egermanparts.com/ before installing the part because the kit had a diffrent part number then the one I had ordered. I was told that it crossed referenced to the kit I had ordered and was the right part for a 113. I checked all the bolt lengths and they were the same as the old ones.
If I did install the wrong flex joint Please let me know! I would rather change it then see it blow up like I have read from other memebers posts.
