I would like to rebuild the shift linkage for my 64 230SL automatic. I need everything from the plastic trim in the shifter gate to any bushings, etc. Is there a kit available ?

Why? You may find out how long a moment in time actually lasts ...
I suggest calling one or more of these parts suppliers, they will be able to help you out:

a kit, probably not
shift bushings are available almost anywhere mb parts are sold.
plastic shif gates are a little harder to find, I bought mine from gernold at sl tech, but call around, buds benz probably has them as well
if you can , call the mb classic center and they can give you part numbers, prices and availability
for the auto the easiest way to change these is to put the shifter in park, go under the car and disconnect the front of the linkage from the tranny.
then go in the car, pull up the carpet over the tunnel, remove the 4 bolts and then pull the whole assy out.
replace the bushings, shift gate, feed the whole thing back in and then go under the car and connect the front.
