Hello 230SL owners.
I would like to verify the arrangement of the chrome trim on top of the windshield. The wide trim piece next to the rubber seal has a lip on the cabin side. The smaller narrow trim pieces on both corners - where the visors attach - can only go over that lip, so I assume that the center piece - the one that has an extension reaching the mirror - should also go over that lip. However, somehow it doesn't want to, especially in the center where that extrusion has to tuck behind the bracket that holds the mirror. The center piece wants to line up next to the lip. I hope the attached picture explains it better.
Which way is correct? Can someone please take a look and let me know?
Thanks!

Hi Alfred. The picture to the right appears to be correct. Over the lip. However, on mine there is absolutely no material showing, it is very tight. Maybe yours is deceiving because the latch piece isn't all the way in place?

Hello James,
correct, I put the center piece into the latch piece loosely to show the difference more. But to be sure, the center piece on yours is also over the lip, just like the two side pieces? I guess I have to apply a bit more brute force to get it over that hump.

Yes it is over the lip all the way across.

Thanks James!
I put it on the list for tomorrow.
