Charcoal/Gray interior and tan sun visors... Nice! LOL
-
- Nice VIN of 113042105.
- 280SL style wheel covers.
- What kind of bumper over-riders are those??
- Nice attempt at a back seat!

Nice placement on the side-view mirror...
We really are picky buggers, aren't we? These small faults are easily repaired, but it makes me happy to know my car is so valuable.

ProvingGrounds,
This isn't my car and I'm not connected to the seller in any way. In fact, I think this dealer's Pagodas tend to be mediocre, at best.
Nonetheless, if you're implying that the light-colored sunvisors and dark interior should match, you're mistaken. On a Coupe/Roadster like the car in question, the sunvisors match the headliner of the hardtop.
(Franky though, this example doesn't appear to be any worse than the questionable 230 SL you represented in this forum as "museum quality" just a couple weeks ago.)

What year did Mercedes change the position of the spare? 1964?

Dont know for sure but the 250's spares all seem to be horizontal. I wish the would have kept it the way it was.

I believe the spare tire well was eliminated in November of 1964.

The spare on this 1966 is upright. Was this a "special" edition?

No, it's a mistake in the advertisement.

Even rarer is the VIN.

Just trying to hang with the rest of you Picky Buggers. I think I get the VIN joke but I just want to make sure. The 113042 10 part is correct (potentially), it just means 230 SL with a 4 speed. It's the 5 that should be replaced by a 6 digit number presumably somewhere between the neighborhood of 014000 and 019000 (that is if the Germans had the same practice of introducing the new model year a few months prior to the new calander year).
So do I pass??
