Title: Glass Polish
Post by: n/a on September 10, 2003, 07:42:58
Has anyone used a glass polishing system on their windshield? Mine is scratched and pitted. I've seen kits in the Eastwood catalog and even saw it used on one of those Saturday "this old car" type shows. Looks like a pretty slick idea. I'm guessing a replacement will set me back a mortgage payment. Since the glass is intact, I'd like to see if I can bring it back. I also don't want to make it worse!

I was told that to remove scratches etc is not that easy. Heavy-duty buffing and polishing required. So I sprang for the mortgage payment and replaced the windshield when I repainted the car. Reproduction windshields are not that expensive (mine cost $230, tinted glass, no green bar. Clear glass for some reason is around $360), and I had it installed by a professional (recommended) for $50.
