So, when I removed the 40 year old coil on my 66 230 sl there appeared to be a condenser connected to the terminal of the coil.
I now have a bosch red coil with 1.8 ohm ballast and a bosch condenser 02006 bolted to the terminal.
Is this correct for the red coil?

Matt, that is the condensor (correct number) that mounts to the distributor. I am less convinced that it is the one for the coil. Mine is a smaller black square thing.

Just spent a few days pulling apart my dissy. It's the condensor that mounts to the side (of the Bosch 051). See attached photos.

ok, just confirmed , the item connected to the coil should be a noise suppressor.
I will remove the condenser
