Title: 107 wheels on 113
Post by: hill on July 09, 2007, 15:34:08
I currently have a very cheap set of tires the have more flex than a Hoochy Koochy girl. My 107 is running the Sumitomo HTR's and I am happy with them on that car (heavier and softer sprung). Changing out all the wheels would be difficult for me so I want to know if the standard 107 wheels with same size tires fit 113 before breaking sweat/knuckles. Do not want to buy a another set of tires and find them to stiff.

Hello,

Darryl,

The W107 standard steel wheels are 1/2" wider and the tires are most likely a bit wider and possibly taller.  I think they will work anyway. Your speedometer will be off a bit. The standard wheel covers are the same.  If you are using the aluminum alloy wheels from a W107 be sure to use the longer lug bolts that are used on them.

ja17 Thanks for the info. The tires are the same size and since the covers will fit I might make the change permanent.

I changed the wheel from the 107 which I believe was obtion in 68 on the 280sl. Went to 205-14x70 tires. Spedo was right on the money.
If I remember correctly the .5 large in dia. Adds a nice look!

The alloy wheels were available in mid 1969 as an option for the 113's.
