Title: Firewall pad dimensions
Post by: waltklatt on July 06, 2007, 07:44:10
Hello All,
Would some one tell me what the long dimension for the firewall pad material is.  I have the material and want to make a template to use to cut the material out, but dont have the full long width dimension.
If anyone wants, I can send them a copy of the blueprint I will make to cut mine.

walter,
do you have the old pad?  I have seen folks remove the old pad to use as a template?

I am waiting for one from sls,  something about getting the final appoval.

I have mine in my trunk but it is in 2 pcs, let me know and If needed I can measure the firellwall and then check the dimension against the pad

Hi Walt. My best measuring shows very close to 49 1/2 inches. This is a reproduction from either Miller's or SL Classics. Problem is the drivers side is relatively square but the pass. has that large cut out for the (wiper assembly?). So I had to guestimate the angles. Anyway, thats what I came up with. Maybe wait for seconds... What would be ideal is someone with the pad not installed yet...

Walt, off topic question.  I have a 'Stebel' 3 flute air horn.  Is Fiamm the later day knock off?

Glennard, the Fiamms are from Italy and they've been around for a long time.  Stebel's sound like German or Swiss horns.
