Gemuetlekeit 2007 is in progress; its final day. JA17 (Joe Alexander) and Rodd Masteller are probably "tearing up the track" at Nelson Ledges Road Course in Ohio as I write this.
Yesterday, Joe, Rodd and myself were doing the Autocross:

That's Rodd on the left, Joe in the car (he was being an instructor here, that's why he's on the right side!) and myself on the right. No I didn't take my Pagoda around the course. I drove a 1983 W123 300D Turbodiesel belonging to my 17 year old Vice President of International Stars MBCA Section. By comparison, I did the course (beginner) in about 58 seconds in the oil burner; Joe did it in about 42 seconds in his SLK. I don't know Rodd's times but he's fast in class with his E420.
Here's Joe tearing into the last turn before the stop-box:

The day before was a great Concours d'Elegance, about 45 cars. JonnyB took home "Best of Show" with his 250SL. Way to go JonnyB. Ironically we had three 113's in a row...all Signal Red! What are those odds?? There was a W113 for sale there, I'll post that info separately.
We did a minor amount of planning for Joe's W113 meet in July, it's shaping up to be bigger and better then ever.

Pix of Pagoda lineup, please. Also, congrats to JonnyB. That's some formidable competition you bested.

Here it is: from left to right, Don and Judy Brehm's 1970 280SL; Michael Salemi's 1969 280SL and JonnyB's 1967 250SL. Pardon the quality, I had to fiddle with it to get it down to postable size. In the background is Ted Gottfried's 300SL Roadster.

The lineup set for Joe's place in July is sure to be great too.

Mike,
Hi. My only clean run through the autocross cones was at 45.490 seconds. My best lap around Nelson Ledges (2.0 miles, 7 turns) was 1:29.5. What a blast!
