Title: Euro Fog Lamp Upgrade
Post by: tdun824259 on May 20, 2007, 12:15:24
Is there an upgrade for the two fog light bulbs housed inside the Euro Headlight?
I've upgraded most of the bulbs through Daniel Stern and this is something I probably need to ask him...however it's Sunday and I was hoping this group could tell me.
The larger of the two existing bulbs is 35w and has a larger base than the smaller bulb.  I'm not even sure why there are two?

Thanks

The other light bulb is for the 'side marker' light used in Europe for on-street parking.

To operate them, you turn the light switch to the left.

1st click should operate the right hand side bulb and second click to the left operates the left hand side light.

This was a choice you could make depending upon where you parked the car.

These do not operate until the engine is switched off.

Ahhhh...thanks Bob.  Since I have an American SL with transplanted Euro headlights, I'm wondering if the switch is wired for the arrangement you described.  My light switch does have a left postion, I'm just not sure it "lights" anything.  I'll check it out.  Thanks for your reply.

Tim,
If you have a multimeter or a 12V test lamp put it on the terminal and you should get 12v minimum when the switch is turned on. Remember that it only works when the ignition switch is turned off.
I believe this has been discussed in the past so I suggest that you do a search.

Please keep us informed of your progress.
thanks
