Title: Fuse blows when key turned

I've got a frustrating problem in that whenever I turn the key on my #2 fuse blows. Its the stubby fuse for the wipers, horn and lighter. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

When that happened to me, there was a short in the wiring for the cigarette lghter.

Yep...most likely the lighter.

Hi James.  Been a full member for a year and I scan the forum several times a week and really appreciate the knowledge shared here.  The 250 has been running so well the last couple of years :D I got bored and found a 1970 BSA that I am currently restoring to rider quality.  Hope all is well.

I had a problem after jacking up my SL to replace my tarnsmission mount.  When I jacked it up/down I must have hit the passenger side
horn.  The fuse block on the horn was then much closer to the chassis (or something metal anyway) than before.  Whenever I put the
car in drive or reverse, the engine would shift enough to bring the top lead into contact and short out the circuit. 

I bent the horn back into place... took the lead and turned it 180 degrees and refastened.  Problem is now solved. 

Strong suggestion.. always check your engine terminal blocks after working under your car.. this drove me nuts for weeks.
