Title: Two light years to Kenia ...
Post by: Cees Klumper on March 21, 2007, 16:59:02
Two years ago, I sent my superfluous US headlights to Tom Awando in Kenia, who is gradually restoring his 250 SL. They never reached him until ... yesterday!

Tom and his car are in the 42nd anniversary poster by the way. And he is now looking for a front grille, so if anyone has one available?

WOW!  Two years to reach Kenia.  So, if we have an extra front grill do we sell it to him at today's price or at "tomorrow's" appreciated price?  ...  just kidding...

Glad to hear that the lights finally made it there...

Was there some explanation for this, or is that the typical situation?

No, this is not typical, in fact Tom was very surprised that they showed up after such a long time. But he did indicate there are oftentimes problems with the mail.

Maybe someone in the Post Office thought they might fit his Stroke 8 and then forwarded them on when he found out they weren't the same!  ;^)
