In this 40th anniversary year, we thought it would be fun to make a large poster, featuring 40 individual photos (5 x 8) of forum members together with their car, with the license plate clarly showing. The idea is that we would like to have ONE member/car team from EACH of the group's regions - illustrating the international flavor of the W113 Pagoda following. From the license plates, one can see that Pagoda's are everywhere !
So ... here's the invitation: (1) claim you place in the poster by being the first to send me an email, reserving it. For all countries other than the US, that means that if you are the first from your country, you get to be in the poster. For the US, we have defined 7 individual regions. (2) after you receive my confirmation, simply have your picture taken and send it to me (digital or snail mail) and we will do the rest. (3) You will receive a complimentary copy of the poster to boot, for your trouble. We will distribute the poster worldwide.

All of the US, Canada, Belgium, Netherlands, Ireland, Germany, Spain and Nicaragua are now spoken for. Does anyone know anyone in another country with a Pagoda they could send this invitation to? We need a couple more countries!

I know the W113 forum on Yahoo has several Australian members, including Bob from Brisbane (id hands_aus@yahoo, I think). I'd be surprised if we couldn't get an "Aussie" to sign up.

Hi Cees,
in our list of members, the following are from countries still not covered:
"hjhofman" (Kuwait)
"jo" (Lebanon)
"pagodedoc" (Mongolia)
"Roadstir" (Ukraine)
"Mo" and two more members (United Arab Emirates)
I guess you already did it, but have you contacted with them? Any answer?
There are only 6 blank spaces, this is really coming! :)

Update - in another month we will start the production of the poster. I have almost all slots filled, and expect to receive the last photos shortly. Interesting countries added lately include Slovenia and Ethiopia. I will update the list I published earlier in this thread next.

QUESTION:
The poster will of course contain 40 great photos of cars + their owners and this will make for a very nice image.
However ... a thought would be to add some technical / statistical / production information etcetera information to the poster, along the bottom edge or whatever.
Also, maybe you have other suggestions to add 'something' to the poster that we can accomodate now that we are still putting it together?
All suggestions welcome!

Hi Cees,
Just got my PAGODA WORLD issue 4 and wondered whether we were supposed to place orders for these posters ourselves individually.
Also I dont recall seeing a price anywhere.........though I havent looked too far !!
Either way I think I'd probably order 3 or so !!

Scotland is missing from your list of countries, mind you some folk would argue as to wether it is a country or not.... :)
so is Wales

Ignore Malc, Scotland is not a real country - and that issue was sorted out between the Scots and the English some centuries back :) .
We find it's good for woolens, golf, whisky, smoked salmon, wilderness, engineers/inventors, industrialists, bankers and oil. But not much else ;)
And their football is dire. :x

We are now working on putting it all together, scrambling to make the Christmas season!
I am still missing a few photos to make the full 40 so the notion of adding Scotland and Wales to the candidate list simply by splitting up the United Kingdom some more is appealing ... For the UK, Naj, and for Ireland Ben are in the poster, but I suppose we could add Wales and Scotland?
Malc - if you send me two or three photos of you + the car in high-resolution (at least 400 kb each) that would be great. Please make sure that the rain and fog don't interfere with the image too much ;-)
And, if there's anyone in Wales out there, please do the same!
We have not figured out the cost yet, we're checking with printers etc now. Most likely we will have two 'versions': one folded to cut down on postage costs, and a non-folded that will be sent in a cardboard tube. As soon as we know more I will report back.

Make sure your license plate is readily visible and recognizable in the photo, as the point of the poster is do exhibit the global presence of the Pagoda and this Group.
When it comes to posters, the higher the quality image the better, so use real film and scan it in BIG, or borrow a 5 megapixel camera or something along those lines.
