Hello all you electrical wizards.
I am trying to find the starter lock and reversing light switch [located on the fire wall in the engine compartment] on Achim's wiring diagram (230SL after motor # 0405) that came with the Spring issue of Pagoda World but cannot find it. What puzzles me is the uninterupted "2,5 violet" wire that runs from the starter (#41) to the ignition switch (#37). Shouldn't that lock be somewhere in that circuit? Or is this diagram specific for a manual shift 230SL and not competely applicable for an automatic?

Hey Alfred,
All the wiring diagrams are for 'manual cars' even the ones in the BBB.
#24 on the wiring diagrams is the 'back up' light switch.
I agree that the 'starter lock' AKA 'neutral safety switch' should be in that wire to the solenoid of the Starter.

Thanks Bob! No wonder that I couldn't find it.

:) I have yet to find a MB that matches the wiring diagram-they're just a starting point.
