In the process of changing all reflectors (some fell apart thro' rust on dismantling) but have been told indicator reflectors are NLA.
Is this so and if so what would the experts advise on having the old ones "recoated" ? Thanks,
Raoul

Well, are you talking about:
reflectors (passive devices that reflect light)
or
indicators (turn signal blinkers activated by the driver)

Sorry, I meant turn signal blinkers ie the shiny bits hidden behind the headlamp glass (Euro style BTW)

Raoul,
I have euro headlights on my 230SL. I didn't buy them because of other priorities, but last year I got a quote from Tom Hanson at Caliber Motors for all the reflective panels inside the headlights. Also, there is a rubber seal between the headlight lense and the headlight assembly and another one between the assembly and the body of the car. All these parts should still be available from a variety of sources. If your favorite parts supplier can't get them, then look elsewhere for these parts. We have a vendors list on our home page at http://www.sl113.org/links.asp
I've been told you can't refinish these reflectors. Some people clean and paint them with reflective paint, but I don't know how well it works.
Thanks,
Rodd
