Title: is there any market for a used AC system?

a friend of mine has an AC system he wants to get out of the garage.  I believe it came out of a 70 or 71 280SL and all the pieces are there.  
Are people buying these things?  
Maybe in the california market?  

He asked me to put it up on Ebay for him but I wanted to see what it might be worth and if there is even a market for them before I take the time to put it up on Epay.  From what I saw of my search on this site it looks like many of you take them out for the extra cabin space.

A/C unit: Early style "Kühlmeister" Aircondition set up complete in excellent condition. Correct for 230SL and early 250SL. Hard to find in good condition! $ 1800 SOLD

A.C. kit - uses R-134 - Includes under dash kit, rotary compressor, pulley, condenser, drier bottle, hose and mounting hardware - 1450 new

I guess it depends on the condition etc....

There's definitely a market for them. Even if it's not installed, people will often hold on to a unit just so they can always have that option in the future.

I'll get some pictures - thanks for the feedback.  Erick - I've tried emailing you several times but it seems all emails to hotmail.com are getting kicked back.  I'll try it from home instead of work.
