Title: Rear Moulding Question
Post by: ChrisInNashville on November 06, 2006, 20:53:01
I've done a search and not found anything definitive, so please help...

The other day, I met a '67 owner with his pagoda.   I noticed that he had chrome moulding behind his rear tires...my '69 doesn't.  Part is #113-698-09-80 on K&K's website.

I've looked at pictures and see some with and some without.   I also have old pictures of mine that do not have the moulding...

So, why the differences?   Were they removed?   Were they options?

I personally like mine without, but I'd like to know if this is a subsequent modification or not.

The chrome-plated brass trim with rubber insert located behind the rear wheels is supposed to be there on all Pagodas.  Many have it either mounted incorrectly or missing altogether.  We went over the measurements for proper alignment in a previous thread, so run a search on related words and you'll find the measurements I took on my last Pagoda.

This is one of "those things" that differentiates the cars.  Like the little notches on the fenders that are often ground off in some repaint jobs, often times the trim isn't replaced either.  Then you might see some added trim, or added trim in the wrong place...
