does anyone know where to get the tyres that have the white narrow stripe around them as opposed to the whole white wall...in the UK and is there a modern size to have.?[:p]

Hi Nick,
I don't know of a UK based supplier but you may want to try SLS at http://213.239.220.84/bin/dbframes.phtml?mid=IN02 they list a 20mm white wall but they about £250 each. I have used them a lot and they are very good, also speak English if you want to phone. If you haven't done so already it is worth searching on Tyres or Tires as they are sometimes called! lots written on the topic especially about size choices.
Good luck.

Coker Tires in Chat. Tennessee (USA) has period correct tires for 113's. They have the small whitewall and curb rub strip on the sidewall.

I had the Coker Phoenix tyres fitted to my 230SL by Wolfgang's before the car was shipped from the USA to the UK. The tyres are really good and sound like exactly what you are looking for. I don't know whether these tyres are available in the UK although if you look at Michael Salemi's "tire Nivana" thread that indicates they should be available from Germany. In the UK have you tried www.vintagetyres.com and www.longstonetyres.co.uk?
Regards
Andrew

If you're only looking for whitewalls for appearance's sake, some tire outfits are able to convert your current tires to whitewalls.
The process involves cutting a very narrow groove around the perimeter of the tire and filling with paint.
