Title: clutch stop?
Post by: miniwarmth on October 16, 2006, 23:17:02
Anyone make an improved clutch stop for the 113?  Shortening the long pedal travel would make shifting a little more pleasurable.  In other cars I have owned this is usually one of the first modifications I have done - longer threaded bolt with pad to reduce the travel.

How would this work with an hydraulic system?

Not possible was Jeff points out that this is a hydralic system.
You could explore the option of lowering the master on the clutch pedal assembly a bit to reduce the travel.  Lots of fabrication and welding here.

Walter,

What I've done on my daily drivers that have hydraulic clutches is to place a stop higher off the floor.  This way I don't waste time pressing the pedal down to the floor even when it is engages/disengages at a much higher point.  I guess I really should just take a good look at what's down there...I'll get back to y'all.

I guess my car is decent enough shape, that I'm thinking about things that perhaps don't need thinking about...Uh oh, I just jinxed myself:)
