So, I was going thru the extra parts for my 66 230 sl and found what i think is a tool.
It is made by hazet, no part number, round 8.75 inches long, about the thickness of a pencil and right in the center there is a groove all the way around
the ends are basically flat.
I will post a photo tomorrow

That sounds like the handle for the spark plug wrench.

It is the handle for the old style Hazet spark plug wrench. It's 8 mm in diameter. Pic attached.

both of you are correct, I have the handle, but nothing else.
