Well here we have a 230 SL(113 042-10-001 266).at the backpart of the body we have got some strainge higher part,which would go exactly undrneed of the hardtop.it is the bodypart,it is the crossover from one side to the other,behind the soft top cover (folding top case cover) where all they have a rubber sealing going all the way around.its called tail panelling,on our car we have right behind the sealing line a higher partlike it was weldet on top of the tail panelling,it also goes all the way around has got a higtnes of about 2 mm some 25 mm wide.we have seen more than 10 pagodas none showed some thing like it.may you can help us out,thaks a lot,regards

Is it possible you have the rear section of a California Coupe and not a Roadster? Below are pix of a Coupe taken from the motoringinvestments.com site. Note how there is no soft top or tonneau cover:

Dandy,
Is this higher part located directly where the rear of the hard top, below both side and the rear glass, would contact the car? Is this higher part meant to keep water out of the car with the hard top installed?
