Title: BECKER - thin model for a 1967
Post by: keesing on August 04, 2006, 08:46:47
I know that I've found it in the past... but can't find it today! Can anyone tell me what model name or number the thiner Becker radio is? The height space in my '67 250SL won't accept the thicker one.

ALSO: Does anyone have one or know of one for sale?

hello Keesing,

Unfortunately I don't have one for you.
The lower profile 4.5 centimeter "fintail" radios are a little harder to come by than the usual 5.5 cm ones.

The names are identical with the later ones: "Becker Europa, Mexico or Grand Prix." There are also other models like "Monte Carlo" or so but those don't have FM mode. I would disregard those.

Where can you find them?
Try Ebay, try Becker of North America in NJ (contact Ed Ebel) to get best quality. Ask (used) parts suppliers.

Good luck !

My Becker Europa MU is 43mm high (1.7in).  The face plate is 54mm (2.1in) high.

Mine states "Europa TR" on the faceplate.
