Could anyone tell me how to remove the hood emblem please?
Thanks,

Mark,
The emblem is held on by threaded studs (or it was on mine) and you need to undo the nuts on the back of these. You can usually reach these easiest with the bonnet closed and threading your hand/arm up through the centre of the Mercedes Star on the front grill.

Hello Mark,
Nothing easier than that.
Open the hood (bonnet) and from the inside of the lower end (=front end) of the hood you can unscrew the Mercedes star emblem with a 8 or 9 mm wrench.
Easy task.

Thanks for the info but I'm still having problems. There's one nut (which I removed) on a stud at the front of the emblem, but there's some other fixing near the back edge too. It's like there's another stud but I can't see it. The trouble is the back of the emblem is over the front strengthening channel of the hood, so it's barely accessible anyway. With a torch and a mirror between the channel and the underside of the hood I can just about see some slight protrusion but there's nothing to unscrew. The emblem can be wiggled slightly from side to side (so I guess it's not stuck down), but it's too tight to see what's holding it. Any other ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Mark

Mark,
Try to pry the badge off.
The second short stud is just for locating the badge, no nut on it.
Maybe a spot of glue used to hold the badge in place when fitted.
