Title: Pontons & Pagodas--fabulous pix from Salzburg rall
Post by: France on August 04, 2006, 01:29:46
Hi Guys,

Someone on the Klosters Classic told us about The Grand Tour, a combination of treasure hunt, "To Catch A Thief," and a gastronomic orgy held every July from London to Monte.  While searching for info on that, I found this link you might be interested in.  Some great pix and description of what European rallies are like!

Sadly, the Klosters group did not include any Pagodas...

Hi, Trice,
My brother and I were on this event last year too in his 107 SLC. (This year, Route 66 in a 107 560SL   )
In my book, its a 'must do before I die' event for any classic Merc owner.

Seeing Mercedes classics in Salzburg remains me of an old movie named "Hopscotch."  Walther Matheau is a disgruntled CIA operative who sets out to create mayhem for his boss.  Glenda Jackson plays a girl friend who lives in Salzburg and drives a red Pagoda in the film
