Hello all,
Per Cees' suggestion, I am writing to introduce myself to the Group. I have a 1969 280SL, which I have been working on since 1986. While it only has 83K miles, I had a good bit of rust to repair after acquisition because the previous owner did not have a garage. Body-wise, it is now better than new, but still has original leather and carpets, the next areas for improvement. I attended the last Group gathering in Blacklick, Ohio, where I was able to meet so many splendid people to compare notes and see a surprising variety of the same basic car (with a few outliers, like a 6.3 and a W123 coupe).
I am a past president of my local MBCA section (Mountain Star Section), and am also working on a recently acquired 1956 Germany-delivered Webasto 219 (still collecting needed parts).
I look forward to sharing our enjoyment of this fine series of vehicles with everyone.

Hello Erwin,
Welcome to our group. I am sure you will find this group to be an excellent resourse and intertainment. I look forward to seeing the input that you will provide as well.

Erwin: We had lunch at Panera Bread, while on Columbus. I recently met a nice chap from Bloomington, Indiana who has a 219 with sunroof. He showed the car at Gemutlichket (best of show) and at Startrack in Pittsburgh (best of street). I will put you in touch with him. He would like to compare notes.
