Title: Car Condo
Post by: Ed Cave on July 24, 2006, 20:58:17
OK guys, you've got to see this. Here is a link to Park Place Car Condos in South Florida www.parkplacecarcondo.com . Give it a look, it is waaay beyond my means  8)  but what a concept.

Alright, now the kicker. Dig around the website until you find the ABC10 feature on Park Place and watch the video. Once I saw the "Pagoda in Distress" near the end of video, I was momentarily convinced that I need to promptly take out another mortgage. [:0][:0][:0]

You really need to experience the site, its pretty well done but if you are too lazy to dig it up on your own, here is a link to directly to the video http://parkplacecarcondo.com/video.php?movie=wmv

Enjoy and have a good laugh.... :D

What a hoot! And a great idea. I would agree with Ed, the web site is very slick, and the video is worth a watch.

There is a similar facility in New York... a country club for cars as they say.

In fact, last year, I thought about getting a group of investors together here in the DC to look into opening such a place here.   The storage place where I store keep my car for the winter is full of collector cars all of whom are paying $300-500 a month.  I know a local Porsche guy with a very modern barn who rents out spaces for about 10 cars each year for $500 a month and he has a waiting list.

As baby boomers in densely populated areas buy more toys, my guess is these type of facilities begin to thrive.

I drive mine here throughout the winter! Stays in most of the summer, though. No a/c. I have been known to have it out early mornings and to dinner once the sun goes down. 8)

This month's Motor Trend Classic has an article on the Car Condo concept. Page 26, titled "The next big thing?". BTW, nice magazine this is, with excellent photography and usually interesting articles.
