I lost my gas tank cap and was wondering where I could find a new one fast. Thank you.
-
...my lost cap was a "locking" version but not the original. I've seen a replacement non-locking cap from Miller-MBZ, part #31-0042C. Will this fit my car w/o any adjustments?

From your friendly M-B dealer, or K&K: M-B part #000 471 2030, locking gas cap,chrome.
A less expensive one (not chrome) is on eBay: Ebay item number: 230003713821.

Also, consider doing a "search" for "gas cap" on this site.

I bought my cap from miller benz and I believe it cost me USD 160 - 180. Its the chrome locking cap since the one that came with my car is the non locking one and from the pictures I've seen, this is the original gas cap.
My pagoda is really special to me. I can't imagine buying a USD 160 gas cap for my other cars. Funny how everytime I load gas in my car I find myself holding on to the gas cap...someone might run off with it hahaha.
Good luck

Just a question on this subject. When I first got my car I couldn't get the key to open the gas cap so a lock smith removed the locking mecinisum. Can I have the cap re-keyed

Willis69,
I have an old chrome locking cap I will give you if I can find it.
The chrome is pitted and the cap may need a new gasket. the lock still works.
e-mail me off line and I will snail mail it to you. (continental U.S)

The dealer here in Jacksonville charged me $105 for a brand new MB, chrome, locking cap. The unfortunate part is that the blank doesn't match the blanks for the rest of my keys, so a locksmith couldn't help me, but it might work for other cars.

I think you can order a cap from MB with correct key to match the rest of your cars' keys?
